Join our team

While ISE is not currently seeking to fill specific roles, we are open to exceptional candidates as we continue to expand our work.

Interested in reducing emissions and energy prices, and/or increasing energy security?  Good.  Interested in finding better, smarter ways to achieve these goals?  Willing to question everything – including your colleagues – and able to think outside the box?  Even better.  That’s what we need.

Types of roles

Full time, part time, project based, and also internships

Experience levels from students to senior professionals

Skills and expertise

We value a combination of the following skills (no single candidate is expected to have them all):

  • Financial analysis and modelling, ideally with formal training and professional experience
  • Programming and data analysis (e.g. Python)
  • Energy sector experience
  • Experience in energy-intensive sectors (e.g. transport, industry)
  • Quantitative background (e.g. economics, mathematics, statistics)
  • Strong understanding of microeconomics is a plus
  • Writing and communication skills
  • Digital and web capabilities
  • Language skills, particularly English, major European languages, Czech and Slovak
  • Note that while much of our work relates to climate policy, it focuses on how to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, not on their effect on the climate, nor on the climate’s effect on everything else.  So just as energy and economics expertise may not often be needed for climate science, climate science expertise is neither a plus nor a minus for us.

How we work

For research and analytical roles, we look for people who:

  • think analytically with their head, not their heart
  • are willing to question assumptions
  • engage constructively with differing views
  • are motivated by improving real-world outcomes

A desire to make the world a better place is a plus.  A disdain for bad policy is an even bigger one.

Location:

ISE is based in Prague, one of Europe’s key energy hubs (home to two top-10 power companies and multiple new competitors). Most full-time roles are expected to be based here.

Exceptions may be possible for highly specialized roles or geographically specific work.

Interested?

If you are interested in working with us, please contact us at info@isenergy.org.

A brief note outlining how you could contribute—and why you would be a strong fit—would be most helpful. A CV is not required at this stage.
